Thinking people know that illegal immigrants are taking very few if any jobs that would be taken by American workers. Who wants to work at very physical labor intensive jobs in the hot sun which have no benefits, crummy housing, no health care and are seasonal to boot? That’s a tough one.
But candidate Gingrich has proposed what should have been the obvious solution: child labor. Think about it. They are unlikely to complain for fear of punishment. They are easily intimidated. They are easily replaced (we have a lot of them). And, for many, they don’t even speak English (at least very well, depending on their age).
How blind we have been for so long! In fact you can trace this blindness to the liberal efforts of the 1920’s. We actually truncated our labor force which resulted in good Americans having to reach across the border to be able to obtain the labor necessary to run our great country. All these years we have been “protecting” children (and, of course, I am referring to poor children) and harming the American economy. These liberals have effectively stolen from us and we should consider action against them and their children to recoup these losses.
And what else did this “protection” get us? Well, I’ll tell you. It got us crowded schools and lowered educational standards. Putting these formerly productive laborers in school has cost us dearly. We subsidized their education as they demonstrated themselves as being barely capable of learning and, by that, have lowered the scores of good Americans. Working children don’t have time for gangs and drug use either.
It took nearly one hundred years before the brilliance of Newt Gingrich brought this wasteful practice to light. It is up to us now to see to it that we fix this long-standing road block to American progress.
While we’re at it we might consider looking at how this was allowed to come about. Hmm. It seems to have followed shortly after women were given the vote. Maybe that’s too much for Newt, maybe not. But clearly some enlightened individual will come forth to take on this issue. But for now we can take comfort at least in the fact that we have a true visionary and have the potential to return to the America we once knew.
